Rangitaiki River White Water Rafting Adventure
The Rangitaiki River is often overlooked due to the mighty Kaituna River, but it’s definitely not to be under estimated. It is nothing short of an epic rafting adventure.
With approximately 1.5 hours (depending on water levels) on the river, you will be left feeling satisfied and stoked on what you have achieved.
The Rangitaiki River is located 45mins south east of Rotorua near a small village called Murupara. Either drive yourself out and spend some time bathing in the free hot pools halfway back to Rotorua or be picked up in Central Rotorua with the Rotorua Rafting crew, ready for some good banter on the bus ride out.

Why is Rangitaiki white water rafting different?
River rafting is one of the most popular, and exhilarating, water activities out there. Practiced all over the globe, rafting on white water is graded according to the expected experience. Starting at grade 1 (scenic, flat rafting perfect for families and a relaxed drift) all the way to grade 5 (high levels of adventure, adrenaline and carrying a higher level of risk), river rafting excursions can be selected and planned around your desired experience.
The tours Rotorua Rafting provide, on the Rangitaiki River, include elements of grade 5, in the form of the exhilarating Geoff’s Joy drop, with moments of more relaxed grade 3. This rollercoaster ride of a river is the perfect blend for an exciting day out.
Our Rotorua adventures are a collaborative experience, so perfect for groups of friends, work teams or classmates. Our tours include cultural learning, connect you with nature and are led by our world-class guides. Your safety is paramount, and we meet the highest of standards, so come dive into your next adventure!
